Finding the treasure in the cave

After all my sickness Tom told me everything about his adventure in the cave. He said that he saw Injun Joe and that Injun Joe had the treasure with him. We ran all we could down to the cave but the entrance was blocked by a big wall. Luckily enough Tom knew another way in that led right into where he saw Injun Joe. It was hidden behind some bushes but Tom had made a mark were it was. When we got down in the cave it was very dark and we could only see a big stone with a cross on. Tom remembered Injun Joe talking about burying the treasure under a cross. Then I began to worry, what if Injun Joe's ghost was still around. Because dead people’s ghost normally protects the treasures. We were so close to give it up when Tom saw the cross and remembered that ghost's did not go where there were any crosses. We were both very relieved and then we began to search for the treasure. After looking for 15 minutes we rested. Then Tom suddenly said that it could be under the stone. So we began to dig at the sides of the stone. Few minutes later my shovel hit a big tree box. We took it up and saw it was the treasure. We opened it and saw all the money and diamonds we could ever imagine. We were both so happy, now we finally got rich. But the treasure was too heavy to carry so we had to find our wheel barrel and putted the diamonds, money and all the other riches in it. We ran home and saw that Widow Douglas had a party. She stood in the door when we came by and asked if we wanted to join. Under the party we told everyone about how rich we just became. We ran outside and carried the treasure up. Together we all counted the money. I don't think anyone in the town had seen so much money on one place before.

Got very sick

Because I had followed Injun Joe almost 24/7 I did not eat much and I only slept very few hours a day. Because of that i got very sick and could not do much. Luckily the Widow Douglas I saved took care of me and let me e in her house until I was fresh again. I can't remember much from it because I slept the most of the time. What I do remember is that the Widow Douglas treated me so well and gave me the most delicious food I have ever tasted. It almost took a week before I just could stand up but I was still terrible sick. After about two weeks I was finally fresh and then Tom came and told everything I had missed while being sick.

Playing pirates at Jackson's Island

I walked slowly along the road, thinking of going fishing, when I met Tom Sawyer and Joe Harper. They told me about their plan to run away and become pirates, I thought it was a great idea because it was so long time ago we had done something funny together. Tom suggested we went to Jackson's Island, a long and narrowed island at the Mississippi river. We should meet the next day at midnight and all bring food with. Tom would bring a boiled ham, Joe brought some bacon and I brought a skillet and some tobacco. When we arrived at the island we were all so tired so we just ate a little and then went to bed. The next day we went bathing in the river and then cooked some breakfast. Then we went into the woods to play pirates. We almost played all day and when we got back to the camp it was already dinner time. Tom and I went fishing while Joe stayed back and cooked bacon and ham. Not long time after we all sat down and enjoyed the great meal. After that I wanted a little smoke and asked the others if they wanted one too. None of them had ever tried it before but they had always wanted too. But after they had smoked a little they did not feel very well. The next day we heard some canon shoots coming from the town, and that could only mean someone had drowned in the river. We all sailed over there to see what happened. We heard two people talking about the funeral there was going to be tomorrow. They also said that they felt sorry for Aunt Polly and Joe Harpers mom. First we did not get why but then we thought it was because it was us there was drowned. Tom then got one of his best ideas ever. We should just walk in, in the middle of the funeral. We all thought it was a great idea and the next morning we went into the town and hid in the church closet. Under the funeral we could hear people crying and suddenly we felt sorry from what we had done. So we opened the closet and walked into the church. Everyone almost looked like if they had seen a ghost. Aunt Polly and Joe Harpers mom came running crying over and hugged us. After that we of course had to tell everyone the story.

The brutal murder at the graveyard

Tom and I wanted to try if it was true that you could charm away warts if you took a dead cat to a graveyard at midnight. The graveyard was not very far away so we met outside Tom's house ten minutes before. It was very dark and windy but we kept talking to forget about the ghost’s that probably was around. When we came to the graveyard we heard some voices and saw three men. They all got shovels so we thought they were grave robbers. We crept so close to them so we could hear all what they said. We identified them as Injun Joe, Muff Potter and the village doctor. Muff Potter was very drunk so he felt down and fainted. Then Injun Joe took out his knife and started talking to the doctor but he whispered so we could not hear it. But we could see the poor doctor looked very frightened. Injun Joe now started moving slowly towards the doctor. Then he jumped on him and stabbed him several times. The doctor was dead. Injun Joe then putted the knife in Muff Potter's hand. He woke Muff Potter and told him that it was him that had killed the poor doctor but Injun Joe promised he would not tell anyone about it. I started running all what I could and I could see Tom was just behind me. We did not stop before we had run many miles. Then we stopped to breathe. I then said that if we told anyone about what happened at the graveyard Injun Joe come and kill us as he killed the doctor. Tom agreed and we swore we would not tell anyone about it.
